Son territoire se situe entre 240 et 1.600 mètres d'altitude et comprend au total neuf jolis villages viticoles et hameaux, pour une population d'environ 14.000 habitants.
Eppan est considéré comme un petit eldorado pour les amateurs de châteaux et les romantiques. On trouve dans les environs d'innombrables châteaux forts, châteaux et demeures nobles, dont beaucoup ont été restaurés avec amour, ouverts aux visites ou utilisés comme hôtels ou restaurants, qui équilibrent avec succès tradition ancienne et tourisme moderne.
La région d'Eppan est particulièrement appréciée pour son climat particulièrement doux, qui attire dès le printemps avec des températures agréables et une ambiance méridionale. Combiné aux nombreuses et précieuses heures d'ensoleillement, ce climat crée des conditions idéales pour la viticulture. Il n'est donc pas étonnant que les caves à vin et à champagne ainsi que les distilleries de grappa produisent chaque année sur place de nombreux crus nobles de renommée internationale.
