Spinga a derrière elle un passé extrêmement riche en événements. Avec Katharina Lanz, il est même entré dans l'histoire. La courageuse jeune fille s'est fait connaître lors de la bataille de Spinga en 1797. Avec les tireurs tyroliens et les habitants de la vallée de Wipp, la paysanne s'est battue contre l'armée de Napoléon, une fourche à la main. Un monument aux héros à Spinga la commémore encore aujourd'hui.
