Via ferrata Monte Roen

Le Sud du Tyrol du Sud est connu pour son atmosphère méditerranéenne, ses vastes vergers et ses collines viticoles, ainsi que pour les chaînes de montagnes qui le bordent à droite et à gauche. Ici, autour de Bolzano, il n'y a pas beaucoup de via ferrata.

Hôtels de randonnée dans le Tyrol du Sud

Celle sur le Monte Roen est une via ferrata facile mais qui vaut la peine d'être empruntée. Elle mène au plus haut sommet de la crête de Mendel - le sommet du même nom du Monte Roen.

Description de l'itinéraire :

Du col de Mendel (1 363 m), suivre le sentier 521 qui monte modérément jusqu'au refuge Halbweg et à l'alpage Roen. On continue sur un chemin carrossable jusqu'au refuge Überetscher à 1.773 m. Ici, les alpinistes suivent les indications pour la via ferrata et arrivent par des virages raides à la paroi est et au début de la via ferrata.

La montée est d'abord raide à travers un couloir, puis on traverse vers la gauche et on atteint sans difficulté la sortie en dessous de la crête. Après une traversée à gauche, on atteint la croix du sommet du Monte Roen (2.116 m) par un chemin de randonnée.

Le retour du sommet se fait par le chemin 521, qui ramène les randonneurs à l'alpage Roen. De là, suivre le chemin de montée pour revenir au col de Mendel.
