Château princier à Merano
Être une princesse, toutes les filles en ont probablement rêvé un jour. Pendant vos vacances dans le Tyrol du Sud, vous pouvez réaliser au moins en partie ce rêve de votre fille en visitant le château princier de Merano. Il a été construit au 15e siècle et servait exclusivement de résidence aux princes, princesses et ducs. On y recevait les invités, on y organisait des banquets et le souverain du moment y résidait.
Au cours des dernières décennies, le château a été restauré et remis en état à grands frais par la ville de Merano et la région du Tyrol du Sud. Il brille désormais d'un nouvel éclat et abrite des meubles, des œuvres d'art, des objets d'aménagement et de la vie quotidienne datant de l'époque des grands princes du Tyrol. Lits à baldaquin, poêles en faïence, chambres princières et bien plus encore : de quoi stimuler l'imagination !
D'ailleurs, la construction du château de la ville de Merano avait sans doute des raisons romantiques. Pour rendre la vie plus agréable dans les Alpes, alors encore sauvages, à sa femme Eleonore, une Écossaise très cultivée, l'archiduc Sigmund a construit le château en 1470 par amour pour elle.
