Ce n’est pas un hasard si ce petit village situé au-dessus de Bressanone est considéré comme une station de vacances à taille humaine, charmante et extrêmement sympathique, qui tient toutes ses promesses.

inetcons - Benedikt TrojerLe village, que ses quelque 1 500 habitants appellent parfois affectueusement « St. Anders », est situé à environ 970 mètres d’altitude, sur la Plose, la montagne emblématique de Brixen. Son histoire remonte probablement à l’Antiquité, les premières traces écrites datant du XIIe siècle.
Autrefois, S. Andrea était un village typiquement dispersé, composé d’un petit centre avec une église paroissiale et de plusieurs fermes éloignées les unes des autres. Au fil du temps, certains hameaux se sont dotés de leurs propres petites églises et chapelles qui, grâce à leurs fresques artistiques, comptent encore aujourd’hui parmi les curiosités du village. La zone d’habitation s’est également de plus en plus densifiée, si bien que S. Andrea peut désormais se présenter comme une petite localité résidentielle et touristique pleine de charme.

Grâce à sa magnifique situation panoramique surplombant la ville épiscopale de Bressanone, S. Andrea est d’une part réputé pour sa vue imprenable sur le Valle Isarco et les montagnes environnantes. D’autre part, la région bénéficie d’un ensoleillement exceptionnel, ce qui permet de profiter la plupart du temps au soleil de l’offre variée d’activités sportives et de loisirs en pleine nature.
Enfin, qu’il s’agisse de lire dans une chaise longue, de faire de la randonnée, du VTT ou du VTT de descente, de jouer au tennis ou de rouler à moto sur la route du col du Würzjoch: sous un soleil radieux et avec une vue imprenable, tout cela procure deux fois plus de plaisir.
Pendant la saison froide, on n’hiberne pas du tout à S. Andrea, mais on accueille les nombreux skieurs et snowboardeurs, attirés comme par magie par les pistes blanches comme neige. C’est en effet à S. Andrea que se trouve la station aval du domaine skiable de la Plose, qui offre environ 40 kilomètres de pistes, dont la plus longue descente du Tyrol du Sud. À cela s’ajoutent un funpark, plusieurs pistes de luge, divers itinéraires de ski de randonnée, des balades en traîneau tiré par des chevaux et, dans tous les cas, beaucoup de plaisir hivernal pour toute la famille.
