The Astor Hotel***S in Schenna is a small and elegant hotel above Meran. Our family-run house is situated in a beautiful panoramic position on a sunny slope in the environs of Meran. Surrounded by a dreamlike mountain scenery and apple orchards, you can enjoy quiet and relaxation, true South Tyrolean hospitality as well as a dreamlike view over Etschtal valley.

Restful holiday atmosphere

The spacious rooms and suites are furnished with natural materials, light-flooded and offer a pleasant living atmosphere. They have a big balcony/terrace, sofa, writing desk, satellite TV, radio, phone, safe, internet access as well as a bathroom with shower. Your day in our hotel starts with a healthy breakfast buffet with a large choice of vital meals and a fabulous panoramic view. In the evening, you will enjoy a choice of a 4/5-course menu served in our restaurant, with a combination of South Tyrolean dishes and a typical Mediterranean cuisine.

Relaxation and discoveries

The Mediterranean garden with pool and sun terrace is perfect for relaxing moments. The surrounding area of the Astor Hotel in Schenna awaits you with dreamlike hikes and bike tours from spring to autumn. We offer a rucksack rental and organize guided bike tours, too. Our guests are offered reduced prices at the bike rental nearby our hotel.

Hotel Astor – A Hidden Gem! I stayed at Hotel Astor with a friend for one night while travelling by motorcycle, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the location and views took our breath away – simply fantastic! Nestled in a picturesque setting, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel relaxed and inspired. Despite not being the "usual" guests – motorcyclists with dusty gear and road stories – we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The owners went above and beyond, engaging us in meaningful conversations that went far beyond the standard “hello” or “where are you headed.” It felt personal, sincere, and truly appreciated. The rooms were spotless and spacious, offering comfort and tranquility after a long day on the road. The dining area and food were out of this world – beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Breakfast was a real treat: a delightful spread of fresh breads, fruits, meats, and cheeses that made it hard to leave the table. In short, Hotel Astor exceeded all expectations. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone – whether you're on two wheels or not. A perfect blend of hospitality, comfort, and unforgettable scenery.

A clean, small hotel. Very good breakfast and mostly excellent dinners (only the salmon was dry once). The location and view are simply magnificent. Buses to Merano, among other places, are right in front of the hotel. Service is friendly and efficient. The pool is adequate. Rooms are new, immaculate, and spacious. The small minibar is practical.

We stayed at the hotel for five nights and can recommend it. The breakfast is plentiful and very varied. The five-course dinner was also very good, but unfortunately, it doesn't start until 7 p.m. and lasts 1.5-2 hours. We would have preferred 6 p.m., but that's just our personal opinion. The panoramic rooms are nice and large with air conditioning. The bathroom is also a good size. The view is very good. Only the junior manager is very reserved and cold towards guests. This cannot be said at all about the very nice senior manager. She is very attentive to her guests and is available around the clock.

We stayed at the Hotel Astor in Schenna for four nights and were thrilled. The rooms are above average in size, and the view from the panoramic rooms is fantastic. Everything is very clean. The location is fantastic; you can walk to Merano. The pool was lovely and never crowded, and cold drinks were also served. The restaurant and terrace are fantastic, and the food is excellent, whether it's breakfast, a set menu, or the barbecue evening...everything is of the highest quality. A family-run establishment that runs this beautiful hotel with passion. Thank you, dear Conte family, and thank you to the wonderful team.

We were mostly satisfied. Beautiful panoramic room with a very nice view. Everything was beautifully laid out and clean. The staff were all very friendly. Minor problems were resolved as quickly as possible. There was hardly anything to complain about in terms of the food at breakfast and dinner. What we personally didn't like, however, was the "wait" for the various courses in the evening multi-course menus. If you enjoy spending up to two hours in the restaurant, that probably won't bother you. We found it extremely annoying, because the next course wasn't served until it felt like two-thirds of the guests had finished their plates. Dinner usually started at 7 p.m., sometimes even later. So if you wanted to go somewhere else in the evening, it was only possible very late, or you had to skip dinner. The hotel is located on a busy road, at least during the day. The hotel's pool was also busy. Finding real peace and quiet wasn't easy. Unfortunately, the hotel guide's recommended or even requested supervision of parents with annoying, boisterous children in the pool area is not implemented... We were able to enjoy the pool for a few days, but then they appeared: the loud pests and their parents, who think their child has to scream and annoy all the other guests...

We stayed at the Hotel Astor for 10 days. When we were looking for a hotel in Schenna, we first and foremost liked the beautiful terrace, where you could also have breakfast in the morning. But also the lovely rooms, which were lovingly looked after daily by a fairy godmother . We laughed and sang together , okay, not particularly beautifully and not in time, but with a lot of heart and soul. We will miss all the lovely people, and of course the excellent food ️, very much and we will be back! Best wishes from Belgium, Roger and Sabine

A charming hotel with a family atmosphere and many regular guests. The atmosphere is upscale yet casual, and the service is attentive and very friendly. The breakfast buffet and the evening 5-course menu are varied, fresh, and delicious. The hotel is located on the main road from Merano to Schenna, but you can't hear it from the rooms (facing the back with a great view), only by the pool. The bus stop is right outside.

A very nice hotel with a wonderful view. Excellent food, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The entire hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts and their team are kind and friendly. We will be back and let ourselves be pampered.
