Guest House Petaunerhof ***is situated in a picturesque position in the middle of the fruit and wine orchards of Schenna near Meran. Here you can enjoy the silence in the middle of nature and a fantastic view to the surrounding mountains.

The cozy and spacious apartments offer enough space for families. Even rooms with bath and balcony you can book here. Fun and relaxation you will find in our heated outdoor swimming pool and kids can play on our nice kid’s playground outside.

Discovering Meran & environs

Petaunerhof is situated directly in front of the Maiser Waalweg, where you can go hiking without big effort. The village Schenna is situated on the foot of the Nature Park Texelgruppe where you will have innumerous possibilities for hiking and mountain bike tours. In wintertime, the modern skiing area Meran 2000 is very close.

We stayed at the Petaunerhof for a hiking holiday with our dog and were very satisfied. The location is a particular highlight: the Maiser Waalweg (irrigation channel path) is right on the doorstep, making it extremely easy to start hiking. It's also great that many good restaurants in Merano, Dorf Tirol, and Schenna can be reached in under an hour's walk via beautiful paths – ideal for leaving the car behind.

The rooms were good, and I think the bathroom was newly renovated. I missed having a soap dish and a shower curtain or something similar. We've always had a refrigerator in our rooms before, and we really missed having one here for our drinks. Everyone was really lovely. I'm vegan, so I appreciated that they offered oat milk at breakfast, even the Alpro barista milk. For example, a latte macchiato wasn't possible, even though most machines can make it these days, and then there's the expensive barista oat milk that's specifically made for frothing. With so many yogurts on offer, they could have included a soy-based one; it doesn't have to be Alpro. They had vegan honey and margarine, which was great. For the homemade muesli, you could indicate whether it's vegan (for example, by putting a "V" in the corner; no one would probably notice) or if it's made with honey. The location is about a 10-minute drive from Schenna. You could work on your cocktails a bit more. We would definitely come back.

The Petaunerhof offers unbeatable value for money. A very generous breakfast buffet with homemade muesli, bacon, and juice; large rooms with new bathrooms and balconies; comfortable beds; peace and quiet – you only hear the river; a lovely pool with stunning mountain views and a beautiful garden. We felt completely at ease and easily reached the accommodation with our bicycles.

We've stayed at the Petaunerhof several times and can only say that everything was perfect for us. Great rooms, excellent food, and attentive hosts. The farm is located below Schenna and not far from Merano. It's an ideal starting point for hikes. One of our highlights is always hiking through the snow in the Ultental valley and relaxing in the pool in the afternoon. Best regards, we'll definitely be back.
