The family-run Weingut & Genusshotel Spitalerhof*** with in-house restaurant and winery is located in Klausen and has a long tradition. Several generations of the Oberpertinger family have been running the hotel with much love, heartiness and passion. For our guests, we offer cosy well-being rooms and suites with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, satellite TV, WLAN and partially with balcony.

Tasty dishes and excellent ice cream

Culinary pleasures and wine are of great importance in our Hotel Spitalerhof. As a family of winegrowers, we produce our own wines. In our in-house distillery, you can taste our liquors and brandies. In our shop, we offer buy agricultural products, wines, spirits and much more for sale. Our half board includes tasty dishes, prepared of regional and our own quality products. South Tyrolean specialities are reinterpreted and the culinary weeks are a highlight for gourmets during several periods of the year.

Discovering the Dolomites

Our Hotel Spitalerhof in Klausen is an ideal starting point for hikes, excursions in the Dolomites, bike and motorbike tours we also recommend. In winter, you will find the Plose, Gröden, Seiser Alm and Gitschberg Jochtal ski resorts in the immediate vicinity and look forward to fantastic winter hikes. You can expect traditional wine-farm charm with contemporary lifestyle, cosy rooms, junior suites as well as an exclusive "Barrel Lodge" (spend the night in a wine barrel) in the garden with private Zirmholz terrace and whirlpool - a small wellness area with two saunas, relaxation room and whirlpool outside, a spacious terrace, underground parking and friendly hosts!

We were there for a long weekend and had booked one of the wine barrels, including a jacuzzi. The location itself was clean, and the wine barrel was a stylishly furnished space. There were six of us guests there, and we're avid hikers. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a parking space after our hikes, as external guests were invited both evenings. As a guest, I find this very disappointing, especially since the cost of staying at this location is completely disproportionate to the problem. There's also the following point to criticize: A buffet with regional specialties was offered one evening. The buffet consisted of black pudding, liver sausage, and lamb, each with a side dish. This meal wasn't very popular with our group, so we asked the waiter for an alternative. We were offered roast beef with a side dish, along with another dish. We all ordered this, but we were subsequently billed for it upon departure. It's worth noting that we should have been informed of this at the time of booking. This is to be expected given the price range of this location, especially since it's quite common for other accommodations of this type.

We stayed (unfortunately...) only three nights at the Genusshotel Spitalerhof. And it was a true delight from the very first moment! A lovingly family-run hotel; we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The wine tasting with Michael was informative and very entertaining, a good "introduction" to our days of enjoyment... the kitchen deserves great praise! Such lovingly prepared dishes! A wonderful salad buffet, and the desserts were true works of art! The service was always commendable: from the manager onwards, EVERYONE was always friendly, accommodating, and simply pleasant, thus contributing to the absolute well-being here. We particularly loved the freshly baked goods, the many different breads, rolls, and small sweets for breakfast, even on Sundays; everything was absolutely fabulous and fresh. Please keep it up!! Our room was modern, spacious, with a roomy covered balcony, and the natural pool was an absolute delight after a strenuous mountain hike. We are thrilled and will gladly come back! The price/performance ratio here is truly top-notch (and not often found like this in South Tyrol anymore!). So, a big thank you to the entire team at the Genusshotel Spitalerhof. G. and K.

Wonderful days at the Spitalerhof – We were on a motorcycle trip in South Tyrol with a friend and booked the "Wine Connoisseur Short Break" package for 3 nights at the Spitalerhof Winery & Gourmet Hotel. The description "Gourmet Hotel" is 100% accurate. The hotel is easy to find. Garage available. The reception was very friendly. We immediately felt at home. Our room was a "Vitis" junior suite. New, stylish, bright, wood, large balcony – simply beautiful. The "staff" – a very personable, always-present boss (taking care of everything and always open for a chat). The rest – no matter what area – was simply fantastic. Dedicated, friendly, and always helpful. We simply felt at home. The "kitchen" – fantastic. Great breakfast with freshly prepared egg dishes. We had the half-board menu for 2 days and the 5-course gourmet menu once. The gourmet menu, including wine pairing, was reminiscent of Michelin-star cuisine: down-to-earth, creative, and excellent ingredients. Pictures attached. It was a dream (including the wonderful and perfectly matched wines). We also tasted all of the hotel's own wines, and they all came highly recommended. In summary: We've rarely stayed in a hotel with such good value for money. We highly recommend the hotel, and we will definitely be back. The welcome was very cold. The room had a bathroom that needed updating. Dinner on the terrace was good, and the breakfast was plentiful with a wide selection. We didn't understand the pool, as the plants in it made the water cloudy. €500 a night for four people; for the same price, you can find better options, perhaps in a slightly more convenient location.

We visited the restaurant inside the hotel (we weren’t staying at the hotel itself) - and it was an incredible experience. We tried two soups, the ravioli and the meat dish - everything was very tasty, and the chilled melon soup was truly something unique and unforgettable. Also, a big thank you to Max, our waiter - extremely polite, attentive, and professional. He made the evening even more enjoyable.

We had a fantastic holiday with a group of friends, 9 days of pampering. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, with a large terrace. The food is fantastic, very refined, for that price. We'd never experienced anything like it, and we've been to the Dolomites many times. And then there's the beautiful terrace where you can sit both indoors and outdoors. When the weather is nice, you can eat outside. The bus stops right outside, which is also a plus. The hotel is located on a busy road, but it doesn't bother you at all. In conclusion, this is truly a top-notch hotel for the region!

We were there for dinner, pure enjoyment, absolutely recommended! The stracciatella starter should have been endless! The tartare and the accompanying bread were outstanding. The wines are exquisite. The value for money is reasonable for the quality, and the service is excellent.

We had a wonderful wine tasting yesterday for our daughter's birthday. She had asked for something like this. Michael presented the individual wines brilliantly and told us some interesting facts about winemaking in the Eisack Valley. It was an entertaining and successful wine tasting. You can tell that Michael puts his heart and soul into winemaking. A quick comment on the restaurant: We have been going to South Tyrol for several years and always treat ourselves to a visit to the restaurant as a culinary highlight. Here you can experience the perfect symbiosis of good food and great wines. Chapeau!!!
